C is for Cow

I read alot of blogs! mainly ones similar to mine and have found many ideas that I love a recent find was stART : A Story + Art = A Great Start you can find out more about it here. This week i thought we would give it a go and was fortunate enough to be able to package it up with our letter of the week C. Neevah's interest in the letter C has been sparked by two books we have been reading one is about Cows and one is about Cats both are firm favourites this week. Today we are focusing on the book about Cows

Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin
Neevah is thoroughly enjoying this book (we are borrowing it from the library) it makes her giggle everytime we read it. Farmer Brown has his work cut out for him literate cows and animals on strike the farmer must negotiate. You will Need
2 pieces of paper in different colours (we used white and green)
white scrap paper (big enough to draw a head and tail)
black marker pen
black paint
small sponge
scissors
glue

To Make
1 .Draw a cows head and tail then cut it out - I copied the head from one of the cows in the story
2 .Cut a small circle or splotch shape from your sponge (this will make the cows spots)
3 .Draw a big C on one piece of paper
4 .Let your child paint the C using the sponge to create the cows spots5 .Let the C dry
6 .Cut out the C and glue it onto the remaining piece of paper7 .Glue on the Head and Tail
Inspiration for today's C is for Cow can be found here
