Find that Fish

Wednesday is normally a very busy day here in the House of Baby Piranha and we normally don't get to do anything fun but today 'Daddy' took on most of the load and we got to enjoy this fun sensory activity. I found this neat recipe for clean mud that I have been waiting to try out and today we had a chance to make it. Neevah had almost as much fun making the clean mud as she did playing with it and I must admit it does have a lovely creamy texture which is very inviting to play with.

To Make Clean Mud

1 roll of toilet paper
1 bar of soap
hot water

1. Rip the toilet paper up into small pieces2. Grate the soap and then add to the toilet paper
3. Slowly add the water and mix - add enough water to make it creamy but not to much so it goes soupyI then added about 8 drops of blue food colouring and mixed it in as i wanted this to represent water

For Find that Fish You Will Need:
Blue Clean Mud
5 Pegs
Large Shallow Container
Basket / Smaller Container
Black Marker Pen

To Make
1 . Take the pegs and cover them in foil
2 .With the marker pen add and eye and fin to make them look like fish3 .Put the fish into the bottom of the shallow container and cover with the blue clean mud
4 .Invite your child to play Find that Fish5 .When they find a fish add it to the basket - you could also add rocks and have them sort the rocks and fish into separate baskets - Sorry not the best photo but you can see in the bottom corner the basket with a fish in it6 .Enjoy the sensory fun - it is great to squish and rub between your hands

Thank you for another fantastic posting. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a speech next week, and I was looking for more info.
