We did this activity yesterday and the kids had great fun stomping around the backyard with Neevah calling out I'm an Elephant .... but unfortunately I don't have any of those photos to share my memory card said all the images were corrupt and then the card wouldn't read at all hmmm hugely possible that when Liam decided to chew on it the other day he wrecked it. After a bit of a tantrum on my part we went out and brought a new one but the re stage for the elephant photos was just not to be it is far to windy to have elephants in the garden today I'm afraid they would fly away a bit like dumbo and neither of the kids thought inside elephants was much fun. I managed 1 shot of each of the kids to share with you ...
You will need
3 pieces of Grey Paper
Thin Card or a Headband
Paper Towel Tube
1 .Cut out two elephant ears from the grey paper - I used this template as a guide
2 .Let your child draw wrinkles on the ears with grey crayon
3 .Cut the thin cardboard into a strip and glue in a circle to fit around your childs head
4 .Fold a small flap where the ear attaches to the head and glue this to your headband or cardboard circle
5 .Roll the Paper towel tube in grey paper and glue to secure
6 .Let your child draw wrinkles on the trunk with grey crayon
7 .Put on the ears and go outside for some trumpeting stomping fun!
